Dear Mr. Liebert,
My name is Jessica Maddin and I am employed as a Front Desk Customer Service Representative at Club 173 in Pasadena, California. I currently am in school for Graphic Design at Woodbury University in Burbank and graduating next Spring. I am coming up on my one year anniversary with the company this May. The way that I got the job was because my personal trainer Morgan White (newly promoted Fitness Manager at my club) who helped me lose 51 pounds last year, gave me a stellar refence for the job. I love working the Front Desk because I can help make our members feel welcomed and encourage them. I did it it, and they can do it too!
My good friend’s brother recently came home safely from Iraq this month. Last November, I had planned to help my friend send a christmas carepackage for him and his fellow soldiers, but was unable to due to some unforseen circumstances. My friend’s brother really appreciated the carepackages his sister sent him the entire time he was out there. He was kind enough to share them with others who did not get anything. Not all soldiers are lucky enough to have family like this. I recently lost one of my closest friends to suicide earlier this year and it has been one of the hardest experiences I have ever faced. I just want to let them know that they are not alone out there and give them some love. I really would like to send some carepackages to some soldiers to show my appreciation and remind them that we care.
I will be out on summer vacation after the first week of May. I found this website called AnySoldier.Com in which Soldiers post wishlists for things they need and would love to recieve in a carepackage. I read several entries and found that many of our soldiers have protein bars and protein powder on their wishlist. I wish I had enough money to be able to buy several things to send over, but the reality is that I only work part-time and am barely able to pay for my last year of college next year.
I know it is a longshot, but you never know until you try, right? Will you please help me by donating some protein bars and powders to send to our soldiers? Morgan got me absolutely hooked on the S’Mores Bars when I trained with her. I have a regular MyApex account and get them on a monthly basis. I know our troops would appreciate them. Many of them really are wanting healthier alternatives (instead of chips and candy) like the bars. Many of them do not have access to microwaves and they are very limited in what they can eat.
Even if you are unable to help. I hope to at least be able to send them one box on my own with hand-written letters. I just want to do more. So I am asking for your help. I will be at work this Sunday 6am – 11am! You can email me back here or feel free to call me if you have any other questions or concerns. I encourage you to visit the website www.AnySoldier.com and hopefully it will inspire you to help me with this project.
Thank you for your time. I hope to hear back from you, even if it’s a no. I know in my heart I tried and that is good enough for me.
Sincerely,
Jessica Maddin
